Wimbledon’s famously strict all-white dress code may leave little room for individuality, but Naomi Osaka proved that personal style can still shine through. For her opening-round match, the tennis champion made a memorable entrance in one of her most meaningful on-court looks yet.

Before facing France’s Elsa Jacquemot, Osaka stepped onto Court No. 3 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in a custom monochrome ensemble celebrating her Japanese heritage. Designed by Tokyo-based Hana Yagi, the kimono-inspired creation was adorned with delicate embroidery depicting cherry blossoms and cranes, symbols of renewal, prosperity, and longevity in Japanese culture. A textured obi-style sash tied into sculptural bows, while the flowing layers of sheer fabric brought a modern sensibility to the traditional silhouette.
