In celebration of the new Valentino Garavani VSLING bag, the Maison collaborated with artist Emilio Villalba on a limited selection of hand-painted bags. The bags, which feature Villalba's iconic eyes, lips and fire symbols, were showcased at Art Basel Miami 2019.
The San Francisco based painter, known for his abstract, distorted oil portraits, has created a limited edition series of ten hand painted Valentino Garavani VSLING Bags, available exclusively at Valentino’s Miami Design District boutique and online on Valentino.com, USA market only.
The one-of-a-kind bags come with a signed and numbered lithograph by Emilio Villalba. Each bag features hand painted clusters of playfully floating, abstract eyes and lips.
On December, a private launch event at Valentino’s Design District Boutique celebrated the partnership, with the artist present alongside Co-Host Colby Mugrabi.
For this occasion, the entire façade of the Valentino store has been covered with printed, colored vinyls of Emilio Villalba’s work. In daylight, colors and transparencies interacted to create fluid movements of light and obscurations, while at night the facade becomed a mixture of colors and shadows.
